The Game Maker's Apprentice
These workshops will give a basic introduction to using the Game Maker development tool to quickly create simple 2D games. Attend this crash course in using the free version of this game development tool and download it for yourself from the YoYoGames website afterwards. Game Maker games can be turned into games for the iPhone/iPad and Android platforms using the professional,  "Studio" version of Game Maker.

This session is suitable for ages 14+ only!

Dr. Jacob Habgood

A former games industry professional, Jake is senior lecturer in game development at Sheffield Hallam University and the author of two hobbyist books on game programming. He has been teaching game making workshops for children since the very first Game City event and has recently taken over as director of the Games Britannia festival which provides a week of game development workshops for schools from all over the UK.
