Text adventures are games which are about interacting with a story, which is why they are sometimes known as "interactive fiction". They were the very first type of computer game, in an age before graphics. Alex Warren is bringing them up to date, to web browsers and smartphones with the free "Quest" software, available at www.textadventures.co.uk.
In this workshop, no prior knowledge is required - you don't need to have played or even have heard of text adventures before, and you don't need to know how to program. Alex will be giving an introduction to text adventures, we'll be playing some as a group, and then we'll start creating our own games. All you need is your imagination!
